The majestic Mizunara oak

Meticulous wood selection has been a hallmark of Maison Courvoisier since our founding in 1828, and Courvoisier Mizunara is no exception. The first collaboration between our Chief Blender Thibaut Hontanx and House of Suntory’s Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo, this remarkable 2023 blend is aged in casks made from the rare Japanese Mizunara oak tree andfilled with Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies aged in Mizunara Japanese oak barrels. A unique and exotic expression of our House Style, Cognac in Blossom, the Courvoisier Mizunara 2023 Blend takes cognac to a new and exquisite place.
Tasting Notes

Beginning
Aromas like candied orange and coconut, from the Mizunara.

Middle
Delicate tropical fruits, chocolate, honey, exotic flowers and jasmine. Intense notes of sandalwood, dried fruits, cinnamon and blond tobacco.

End
Smooth and mellow with vanilla, roasted cocoa and peppery aromas on the palate, deliver great complexity. A mouthfeel with a long-lasting finish of soft tannins and exotic Sweetness.

Inspired design
The elegance of the Mizunara 2023 Blend bottle allows the golden mahogany of the liquid to shine through. A gold metal cutout of the Mizunara tree is wrapped around both the bottle and the case, while at the neck of the bottle we find the signatures of the two Master Blenders who created this unique Edition.

A blend for the ages

This unique cognac, made from a blend of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies, is traditionally aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years. It is then moved to new Mizunara barrels for the remaining few years, revealing exotic aromas of an exceptionally harmonious and aromatic cognac.
