Tasting Notes

Candied orange slice

The delicate yet rich fruit notes of fig, raisin, plum, and candied orange reveal an exquisitely layered and matured blend.

Iris Flower stem

An autumn bouquet with distinct notes of Iris.

Crème Brûlée garnished with fresh berries.

The eaux-de-vie are matured in proprietary barrels using complex aging techniques, for notes of crème brûlée and a long finish.

Food Pairings

Roquefort cheese wedges

XO, with its complex notes of candied fruit and caramel is considered a superior cognac among connoisseurs. The Roquefort’s sharp, tangy, salty flavor stands up to the richness of the XO and brings out its unique profile.

What the experts say

“An exotic vanilla and crème brûlée bouquet, candied orange aromas and iris flowers notes, all come together to excite the senses.”

The Royal Courts

In 1811, the French Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte III made a visit to Courvoisier. He was so taken with the spirit that it was named the official cognac of Napoleon's Imperial Court. Courvoisier’s popularity in France spread like wildfire and soon after, became beloved throughout Europe and graced the tables of many royal courts.
